Another protester, named Mike Dunn, considered firearms to be «the only thing that can protect your right to be free». Dunn, who believed that freedom of speech «is under attack», explained that protesters aim at «drawing the line for the senate of Virginia» for «no more gun laws» to be enacted. The rally was organised by organized by the Virginia Militia, which opposes Richmond's Mayor Levar Stoney call to pass a strict gun legislation.
