Hundreds of protesters took part in the very first 'International Solidarity Day of Protest Against Police Terror' in Minneapolis on Saturday, organised by Black Lives Matter and other anti-racism groups, calling for racial justice and equality. Protesters gathered outside of the Minneapolis City Hall building and the Hennepin County Government Center where they listened to a series of speakers and showed their support with signs carrying slogans like «Think About How Many Weren't Filmed.» «I'm a young black girl born into a system in this world that is nothing but built against me. And their school curriculums were made to show us what to think, not how to think,» said Hayat Kabeto, speaking in front of the crowd. The large-scale protest was one of several taking place over the weekend, as demonstrations for racial justice continue throughout the United States after the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis while in police custody.
