Thousands of students rallied on the streets of Bratislava, Monday, to protest against alleged government corruption and a lack of investigation into such cases. Protesters marched through the centre of Bratislava with banners and flags, demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Robert Fico and Interior Minister Robert Kalinak. «Actors should be actors, politicians should be politicians. I am annoyed by the fact that it's often the reverse,» said one dramatic art student and protester. While fellow speaker Lukas Fule, stated that «In the countries of western Europe it is standard that if a politician is suspected of corruption, he resigns immediately. The sad truth is that we just play the west here.» A corruption investigation of President of Slovakia Andrej Kiska has come under fire in recent times, after leaked documents revealed Kiska's company had mishandled taxes relating to his presidential campaign.
