The head of the Centre for Countering Extremism in the Republic of Ingushetia Ibrahim Eldzharkiev and his younger brother were killed in the south-west of Moscow on Saturday. According to early reports, an unknown man fired several shots before fleeing in a car. Both men died of their injures at the scene. The Investigative Committee instituted criminal proceedings and opened an investigation into the murder case. Law enforcement officers are already at the site. The city has introduced an 'Intercept' plan to search for the getaway car. Eldzharkiev had been a target of previous assassination attempts. In January, unknown people fired several shots at his car using a machine gun on the road from Chechnya to Ingushetia, a few kilometers from the border post. That time Eldzharkiev was not injured, but three police officers accompanying him in the car were wounded, one of whom subsequently died.
