Russia: Four injured in airstair collapse while boarding plane at Barnaul airport
Six passengers fell to the ground when the airstairs they were using to board a Ural Airlines flight to Moscow at Russia’s Barnaul airport collapsed, as shown in a video that emerged online on Tuesday. According to the Russian Investigative Committee, four people were injured and hospitalised when the airstairs appeared to buckle under their weight. A criminal case on the provision of services that do not meet the safety requirements has been initiated. Barnaul Airport representatives have reportedly stated that the ramp passed a scheduled inspection in October 2018.
