Ayatollah of Iran Ali Khamenei said he was “not satisfied” with the government’s earthquake response on a visit to the Iran-Iraq border region on Monday. Footage shows the Supreme Leader speaking to residents from Sarpol-e Zahab, one of the worst hit towns in the Kermansha province. Khamenei praised rescue and relief efforts, but called on the Iranian government to redouble its efforts. A powerful magnitude 7.3 earthquake rocked the northern border region between Iran and Iraq, killing more than 500 people and injuring thousands more.
