Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong (DAB) vice-chairman Holden Chow Ho-ding said a rumour stating he had told local media that the government would implement a lockdown next week is false, during a press briefing in Hong Kong on Friday. Holden Chow condemned «the fake news released today about myself,» saying it could instil panic into society. «We also urge the authority to establish a whole set of fake news law to regulate this fake news,» Holden Chow said. «Because, as we all know, the fake news can cause serious harm to the city and can also cause fear.» Hong Kong has registered 2,373 cases of COVID-19 and 16 related deaths, according to Johns Hopkins University.
