A breathtaking 'Flower Moon' shone brightly over Berlin on Wednesday evening. Footage shows the highly visible supermoon sitting above some of the city's most famous monuments. May's full moon is known as the 'Flower Moon' as signified the flowers that would bloom during this month. There is a wide array of wildflowers that bloom in May throughout the Northern Hemisphere, which is where these traditional names for full moons originate from. Supermoons occur when the moon is at its closest approach to Earth in orbit. The moon appears brighter and bigger in the night sky, and thanks to lovely spring weather in the German capital, few clouds were around to obscure the view. Wednesday's 'Flower Moon,' which will be visible until Friday morning is the final supermoon of the year, finishing off a trio of supermoons that began back in March.
