After nearly two months of lockdown, China's biggest city was starting to resume its normal pace on Friday, with residents back in the streets, using the metro, shopping and eating out. On Saturday, over 200 cinemas are also set to re-open. The population is still largely wearing face masks and subjected to widespread temperature checks throughout the 24-million inhabitant metropolis. China has placed a temporary ban on all foreign visitors and Shanghai announced that all incoming travellers should undergo 14 days of quarantine in a bid to stop contamination from abroad, as out of the 55 new coronavirus cases reported in China on Thursday, 54 are from overseas. 3,292 people have died in China because of COVID-19 since the beginning of the outbreak.
