China: Beijing responding to trade friction with US — Ministry of Commerce
Deputy Minister of Commerce Qian Keming said China has been 'actively responding' to the economic and trade dispute between his country and the US. Keming spoke at the China's Ministry of Commerce (MOFCOM) annual review in Beijing on Tuesday, ahead of upcoming high-level trade talks with US officials. «We have been conscientiously implementing the important consensus of the two leaders in Argentina. We will step up the negotiations,» said the minister. «It clarifies the fact that the China-US trade is a mutually beneficial cooperation, illuminates the position of China and gains the positive reaction from the society,» he added, speaking of papers which will be published in the coming weeks. US Secretary of Treasury Steven Mnuchin and Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer are expected to head the American delegation which will participate in the Beijing-hosted trade talks on February 14th and 15th.
