Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau called for a «credible, independent, international investigation» into the causes of the «horrific» downing of Ukrainian International Airlines (UIA) civilian flight PS752 at a press conference in Ottawa on Sunday. «I had a chance to sit with some of the families of the victims. They are hurt, angry and grieving. They want answers. They want justice. What Iran has admitted to, is very serious. Shooting down a civilian aircraft is horrific. Iran must take full responsibility. Canada will not rest until we get the accountability until we get the accountability, justice and closure that the families deserve,» Trudeau said. The Canadian Prime Minister demanded that they «be fully included in the investigation into the cause of the crash, that all the answers be worked on together and that we be able to have our investigators involved in everything from the black box to support in DNA identification and the various processes.» At least 63 victims were Canadian citizens and 138 people were headed Canada, according to the country's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. The cause of the incident has developed into a diplomatic spat. Western leaders said an Iranian missile caused the downing of the Boeing 737-800, possibly in error, which Iran denied first. Earlier, Iran admitted «unintentionally» shooting down the Ukrainian International Airlines (UIA) flight PS752, killing all 176 people on board. An investigation revealed that «missiles fired due to human error,» according to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani. The military said the jet turned towards a site belonging to the IRGC and was mistaken for a cruise missile. A total of 176 people died when UIA flight PS752 crashed shortly after taking off from Tehran's Imam Khomeini airport en route to Kiev.
