Brazil's 250-bed hospital, believed to be the largest in the country designated solely for the treatment of COVID-19 patients, opened up its doors in Sao Paulo on Thursday. State's governor, Joan Doria also attended the opening ceremony of the Hospital Sao Bernardo do Campo, as a small number of President Jair Bolsonaro supporters staged a protest against him outside the facilities. According to reports, Sao Bernardo do Campo will house 250 new beds for coronavirus patients, 80 of which have been designated as intensive care units. Brazil, which is considered to be the new epicenter of the pandemic in South America, has recorded over 203,000 cases of the coronavirus since the outbreak began and almost 14,000 fatalities related to the virus, according to Johns Hopkins University.
