Brazil: Bolsonaro greets supporters at anti-lockdown rally in Brasilia

Supporters of Brazil's President, Jair Bolsonaro gathered in front of Brasilia's National Congress and Planalto Presidential Palace, on Sunday, with the president greeting the people at the anti-lockdown rally. Bolsonaro was seen wearing a face mask, holding a child in his arms, accompanied by officials. Some of Bolsonaro supporters traveled to Brasilia from other cities to take part in the protest. People were seen holding Brazilian flags and singing the Brazilian national anthem as they danced in front of the National Congress building. Some even decided to camp nearby. Brazil's health minister, Nelson Teich, resigned on Friday less than a month after his appointment, due to reported differences between his and Bolsonaro's handling of the coronavirus pandemic. The president is eager to reopen the country's economy, despite local stay-at-home orders. As of Sunday, Brazil has 236,131 coronavirus cases and 15,776 fatalities, according to Johns Hopkins University/
